Pool is one of the world's most popular sports. It can be played on a number of different sized tables. It's a challenging game, and it requires a lot of skill. Although there are many variations of pool, the most popular ones are eight ball and continuous pool. These games require skill and can either be played solo, in pairs or as a group sport.

The goal of the game's objective is to place all designated balls. This includes the cue ball, eight-ball and other object balls. Each player receives one of two pockets at each end of the table. They continue until they foul, miss, or both. The foul must be committed by the player. There are a variety of fouls that can occur, such as a break, hitting the cue ball into an object ball, committing an illegal break, and executing a jump shot.

The World Standardized Rules are the official rules of pool. These rules are used by many international tournaments, organizations, and the Billiard Congress of America. If there is a foul, the ball must be put back on. The ball pocketed by an opponent counts as one point.

In eight-ball, the goal is to pocket the black eight ball. Depending on the variant of the game, other balls will be numbered from 1 to 9. If the player pockets a ball into his own pocket, he wins the game.

A normal foul can result in a penalty of a minus. The ball must immediately be racked if it is caught in the middle of a foul. The player may decide to return to the same position as before the foul by taking his next shot. He may choose to keep his shot, and if his opponent places a ball in his pocket, he will be awarded a point.

Another type of foul is the ball in hand foul. This happens when a player touches a cue ball with one foot only. Before taking a shot, the player must announce which pocketed ball he or she has. The ball that was pocketed during foul play must be positioned as close to the feet spot as possible.

A player who commits more than two fouls at once must be warned before taking their next shot. A third foul, if not accepted by the player, will result in the loss of the game. Example: If the player breaks during the first inning of play, he/she will be awarded a minus point of -10.

Non-player interference can also be considered a foul. Non-player interference refers to any foul that occurs when the ball gets pushed or bumped in the face by an opponent, or an unscheduled fixture. Non-player interference does not count if the ball is pocketed in the course or a foul.
