
The World Trick Shot Championship, a championship for trick shot billiards, is held every year. The competition first took place on snooker boards in 1991. It was organized by Matchroom Sport. The competition was organized by Matchroom Sports. The competition was held at Celtic Manor in 2005.
In the 1970s, trick shots were popular among professional billiards players around the world. These players were given prizes, such as the World Championship of Artistic Pool or the International Challenge Cup. Today trick shot is a sanctioned form of pool by the World Pool-Billiard Society. Aside from playing in tournaments, trick shot artists also teach others the sport.
Mike Massey was a famous trick shot artist in the world since the late 70s. He has played many games with sports celebrities, such as Jason Gedrick and Paul Sorvino. Massey is also an instructor and fund-raiser for the sport. His performances at Wentworth's Waste Management Pheonix Open (and the Volvo PGA of Wentworth) have brought him a lot more attention.

Mike Massey has taught many professionals in the sport including Scott Baiin, Dean Cain and James Tolkan. He has won numerous professional international competitions and was a member the Team U.S.A. that won the 2002 trick shot world championship. This team also performed in Abu Dhabi at the HSBC Championships and Commercial Bank Qatar Masters.
Jim Sommer is another outstanding trick shot artist. He has competed in many international Trick shot turning events. He was the winner of the US Nationals Artistic Pool Championship.
The World Trick Shot Artists Association or WTSAA is an international association of trick-shot artists. Paul Gerni (world champion) is the organization of this association. The WTSAA book contains 160 tricks. Some of these tricks are the machine gun shot (kick), quick-fire shot, and other trick shots. Other trick shots include "pro" shot (extremely cut shot), and "proper" shot.
Tim "The Dragon" Chin, the 2022 US Nationals Artistic Pool Champion, won the prestigious title by defeating Jason "The Michigan Kid" Lynch in the finals. Both Lynch as well as Chin are WPA World Ranked. However, Chin has the advantage of being a seasoned professional, while Lynch is still a student at Ohio State.

The next Trick Shot Magic event will be held on October 9-10. This competition will feature eight international stars of the sport. They will compete for a prize of $40,000. Each player can choose from six to ten shots. After choosing their favorites, each player will be given three chances to complete the shot. All players who take a shot that is successful will be awarded a point.
