Pool leagues can be a great way for you to meet new people, improve your skills and have fun with others. They allow you to meet new people, build relationships and make friends. Professional events are sometimes held by some pool leagues. You can win a lot of money if you play well. First, make sure you choose the league that suits your skill level. There are many leagues that you can choose from. You will find the best one for you. Megabucks Amateur Pool League is a good place to start if you are just starting out. Anyone who is interested in pool can join the league. BCA Pool League can also be a good option. This umbrella membership organization offers logistical support for events. It also allows you the opportunity to join pool leagues throughout different countries. This league boasts over 500 leagues in all 50 countries and is the most popular amateur pool tournament.

BCA also offers a State Tournament Added Money Program, (STAMP) that allows you to receive cash rewards for participating in a state tournament. The STAMP application can be downloaded from the BCA Pool League Downs page.

The Valley National 8-Ball League Association is the largest international amateur pool league and it plays in over 400 towns and cities across the country. VNEA has also been active in 36 other countries.


Pool leagues usually use a handicap system that allows players to play against other players with the same skill. Consider joining a pool team if you have a handicap. There may be additional fees for tournaments or to play depending on the league.

American Poolplayers Association, a non-profit league for pool players, was established in 1979. APA, originally called the National Pool League (now APA), has more than 250,000 member. Although not all APA leagues have eight-ball teams in them, the majority of them are.

The USA Pool League is a well-respected organization that offers organized leagues. This league has more than 100,000 members and offers both nine-ball and 10-ball. Their mission is to promote weekly pool table competition among their members.
