Shaun Murphy, a world-class player in snooker, is well-known for his straight cue action and long potting. He has achieved over 400 century breaks in his career, including the second maximum break in the Championship League in 2014.

Murphy was ranked number 3 in the world at start to the 2008/2009 Season. He dropped to number seven in the 2010/2011 season. He won the Players Tour Championship in 2011 and finished his career Triple Crown. It was a shock win for Murphy, as he was considered to be a big underdog. Then in 2012 he reached the final of the UK Championship. He was defeated by Judd Trump, the eventual winner.
