Dafabet will again be the title sponsor at the World Pool Masters. Dafabet is an online sports betting operator that partners with many high-profile brands such as Celtic FC, Norwich City FC and the Warwickshire County Cricket Team. Dafabet is also the title sponsor for the British Fast5 Netball All-Stars Championship. It previously served as title sponsor of the World Pool Masters in 2017 and 2019.
Gibraltar will host 2020 World Pool Masters. The tournament will feature 24 of world's top players and a $100,000 prize money. Matchroom Pool Club subscribers will be able to purchase tickets on Monday, Dec 9, while the general public can buy tickets on Tuesday, Dec 10, for the tournament. David Alcaide was last year's champion. He will be trying to defend his title in front of a star-studded field.
Dafabet Master of Pool
Dafabet has renewed its title sponsorship agreement for the World Pool Masters. The tournament will take places in Gibraltar 22-25 May 2019. The title sponsor for the World Pool Masters 2017-2018 was Dafabet. Dafabet also has sponsorship deals in other sports. The company has also partnered with LaLiga, a football tournament in Spain, and Durham Cricket Club in England.
Dafabet World Pool Masters (a nine-ball pool tournament) is an international competition. It is the most popular event of its kind, and it has increased the prize money for the winner each year. The event's prize fund this year was $100,000. David Alcaide from Spain won the tournament. Alcaide beat Alexander Kazakis of Greece by twice the length in the final. Niels Feijen defeated Shane Van Boening to reach the final in the previous event. David Alcaide was also defeated during the first round.
Joshua Filler
Joshua Filler, a Bonen-based German pool player, is making waves within the professional pool world. The 21 year-old Filler has won the China Open, as well the European Pool Championships (10-ball). He is the youngest person ever to win these two competitions. In addition to winning the China Open, he is also the youngest player to ever win the European Pool Championships.
Filler started the sport at age seven. He was already competing in the national level. At the age of twenty-five, Filler made his Mosconi Cup debut. Europe was represented at the event. After his Mosconi Cup appearance, he went on to win the China Open 9-ball tournament and the ten-ball European Pool Championship. The next year, he won his first world championship, defeating Italian Carlo Biado in the final. In addition to winning the World Pool Masters, he also won the Mosconi Cup, the World Cup of Pool, and the US Open Pool Championship.
Lo Hosum
Lo Ho-sum is the first Hong Kong pool players to reach the World Pool Masters final. He is still relatively unknown outside his home country despite his recent success in the sport. Lo was an unofficial wild-card player to the Gibraltar tournament. He won a number of matches and reached the final. In the quarterfinals, Lo defeated Shane Van Boening. But, in the final, he lost to Joshua Filler. They were tied at six before Lo's heroics ended the match.
The World Pool Masters, a nine-ball tournament held each year to determine the top pool players around the globe, is a nine ball competition. The event was first held in Europe but expanded to include players from other parts of the world. Lo has a great professional record, and has maintained a top ranking throughout his entire career.
Sanchez Ruiz
Francisco Sanchez Ruiz won the 2022 US Open Pool Championship. He defeated Max Lechner 13-10 in final. This victory places him at number one in the Live Nineball World Rankings. It also earns him $50,000 for the first prize. Sanchez Ruiz also became the first Spanish player to win the pool's oldest major. The win also pushed Sanchez Ruiz over the $100,000 mark, passing Shane Van Boening in the process.
Sanchez Ruiz had to battle through a number of tough moments against Filler. However, he was able to overcome his initial nerves and roared to victory after making two consecutive racks. Sanchez Ruiz took a three point lead over Filler, but he was able to hold on for a two-rack buffer.
