8-ball

There is no need for color-based racking in the eight ball game. In this version of the game, the 8 ball must be the frontmost of the center three balls. Most people put the one infront. Rules also stipulate that you can lose a turn for making a mistake with a ball. Also, you are not allowed to touch rails or call straight-in shots while making a shot.
Double tapping
Double tapping, in bar pool rules, refers to the ability to double tap on an item ball by positioning the ball close to it and aiming for it. A cueball is within an inch of an object ball if it is less than 12 inch. It is also called "sharking".
Assigning solids or strips
